A well-kept reef tank is a small ecosystem. This is one of ours, photographed after closing when only the actinic lights are on.

Owner

Andrew, keeper of tanks.

Andrew opened Great Lakes Fish & Coral because his home fishroom got a little out of hand. What started as a single tank turned into a reef, then a few more, then the shop you see today.

He is usually behind the frag rack — dosing tanks, moving corals, or talking a customer through their water parameters.

"Get the water right and the animals do the rest. My job is helping you get the water right."

About us

Hobbyists first, shopkeepers second.

We are fish people. We keep tanks at home, read about reef chemistry for fun, and get way too attached to our livestock.

We will not sell you an animal that is wrong for your setup. We would rather talk you out of a purchase than sell something that will not thrive.
